Cape Kamenjak is one of the most beautiful areas in the vicinity of Pula, near the small and pittoresque village of Premantura. It's the southernmost part of the peninsula of Istria, a strip of land fully exposed to the sun and the sea.
Visitors of this area will be amazed by its beauty and overwhelmed by its unique blend of colours, forms and aromas, the sounds of the wind and the sea, the warmth of the sun and the nearly untouched nature.
The valuable landscape of Kamenjak is composed of the communities of garigue, maquis, small pine woods and a few agricultural fields. Very special is the floristic and faunistic richness of this nature reserve, which is defined as a "protected landscape" by Croatian law. Cape Kamenjak gives more than 550 species of plants a place for living, amongst them more than thirty orchid species, all of them fully protected by law (two of them are endemic for southern Istria).
The coastline and beaches of Cape Kamenjak are rocky, some small gravel beaches are situated in beautiful coves - and you wouldn't believe it, but there also exists a tiny and small sandy beach in this area, one of the very few sandy beaches all over Istria! In summer it is crowded, of course, but in spring or autumn it's a nice place to take a bath in the clear and blue waters of Cape Kamenjak. This little traditional cache will lead you to this cove...have fun!
