Geocache Description:

A 2.5 hour round trip to a pass in the valley that is left of Marmot Mountain and Right of Gold cord lake Valley IN Hatcher Pass

Go to HP and park in the Big parking lot near the A frames. Find a well worn trail following a creek straight up the hill which will lead you into this valley and follow it to the head of the valley. On the left you will see a shallow green pass between some rocky areas. Follow the obvious old switchback trail to the top of the pass and enjoy the views of Archangel valley/reed creek and Independence Valley. This cache can be found about 35 paces left of the pass proper look for a small cuddy/cave in a big slab of Granite. Clear plastic contaiiner, pencil, Log, and a postcard you can send me if youre FTF. BUdget 3 hours for this its great to do late in the evening as it stays sunny long after everything else is in the shadows. 16th in a series of caches that take you to passes in the HP area. Has about 1500 feet of elevation gain and tops out at 4500 ft. lots of pretty wildflowers fabulous views, and a great place to spend an evening.
