Ratpunzel and her NH River Rat buddies spent an enjoyable day
boating and caching on Powder Mill Pond. She is happy to report the
successful deployment of her first cache! The cache is located
approximately 2.5 miles from the boat launch area. Ratpunzel hopes
you enjoy exploring the Powder Mill Pond area as much as she does!
Powder Mill Pond is a 435-acre reservoir formed by a dam on the
Contoocook River in Bennington, New Hampshire. Since Powder Mill is
a public water supply, gasoline-powered motorboats are prohibited,
which leaves exceptionally clean water for us rats to enjoy. A few
islands can be found on the reservoir which are a fun stop to rest,
enjoy a picnic lunch or to enjoy the views. There are lots of other
caches hidden on or near the reservoir and islands so be sure to
check those out too!
