Geocache Description:

Randolph's Leap. On the B9007 Carrbridge to Forres road between Relugas and Logie there is a small car park at the roadside. Cache area is fine for kids and sturdy buggies. Care has to be taken if you continue round the river walk . There are places where the path is narrow and high above the river. However, a fantastic walk with stunning scenery.
We also have another cache nearby which is part of a circular walk. See cache 'Rooting Around ' GC1VC95.

The GPS point is close to a floodstone, one of the two on the map at the start of the walk.

It is a small clear lunch box about 6" x 4". There is a logbook with a pencil. Some kids toys to start with, plus a couple of items for the adults. Items are of a decent quality, so please replace with similar value if trading.

We called the cache "Leaping for Joy" after Randolph's Leap. Randolph didn't jump across the river. He was the Earl of Moray in the mid-14th Century. An enemy he was pursuing one day made good his escape by leaping across it here.

The two Flood Stones were placed there after a massive flood in 1829, when the River Findhorn rose 50ft above it's normal level. It's hard to believe when you see where they are!

This is our 1st cache in this area which can be part of a circular walk to include our 2nd cache 'Rooting Around' : GC1VC95. Follow the arrows on the walk around clockwise from cache ''Leaping for Joy' . This 2nd cache is a double-cache with a bit of simple arithmetic, all clues are there. Good luck. If you continue on past cache 2 the path can become more open and high, so please watch children and dogs.

DONT TRY THIS WHILE YOUR CACHING LOL. These guys are professionals.

There is a Visitor Centre nearby at Logie Steading , where there are craft shops, a restaurant, toilets, a childerns playpark, more nice walks, and great ice cream.

WELL DONE***** to Hamish D for being FTF.*****
