Geocache Description:

This small cache will bring you to a beautiful spot on the Cornell campus.

This cache is magnetic and should be very easy to locate given that fact. Please use extreme stealth and do not trample, dig, or disturb any plants in your search.

Professor Lua Minns believed students learn best by doing. So in the 1920s the university's first professor of herbaceous plants established an expansive plot in front of Bailey Hall where she could help her students learn the finer points of gardening. Horticulture students still plan, plant, and tend the garden.

The garden recently was enhanced by what must be the best-looking deer-proofing ever - three original gates by blacksmith Durand Van Doren: West Gate (May 2008), Apple Gate (May 2009), and Wood Gate (May 2009). Take time to admire the gates and this vibrant garden at the heart of Cornell's campus.
