Geocache Description:

This small village was first known as Baluosekuliai since it was first mentioned in 1783.



Starting 1798 people started calling the village Strazdai after the name of forester family who lived there. The dwellings and a couple of barns have remained from the 19th Centtury.



There used to live 34 people back in 1903 and only 7 at the time when the cache was hidden. The village is known for its barn theatre. Eleven people were killed after fighting the soviets back in 1951, there is a monument by the road to commemorate the tragedy.

The cache is a large nano with no pencil inside, please bring your own pen. I had very little time and could not do extensive sampling so the coords may walk you away, trust the hint and feel free to post your version of updated coords to make the task easier for others.
