The cache will take you to a memorial for someone whose surname
will probably be familiar to Tasmanians as this name appears on
street names, buildings, place names, an Australian electoral
division, etc. As it is a prominent family from early in Tasmania's
colonial history, many members of this family have distinguished
themselves in public life.
A note about the site: This site is a memorial. Be
respectful. In order to find this cache you need not touch the
memorial or enter the fence that surrounds it. If it has been
raining (as it was the day I set this cache) the hillside can be
EXTREMELY slippery. To get to the listed coordinates I would advise
you to look for a gentle slope down to the beach to the north. You
can then approach the listed coordinates from the beach side. Also
be careful of the shrubs around the memorial; they have large
thorns but are easily avoided. I have taken time to ensure you do
not need to come in contact with the thorny bushes; use your brain
instead of following the arrow and you should be fine! And the area
will reward you; the views are just stunning! If your dog loves
chasing rabbits, you may wish to keep it on lead; this is rabbit
heaven!
