A quick and easy cache near to Longfellow bridge overlooking the
Charles and Boston. River.
This will hopefully be the first of several caches near to the many
bridges spanning the Charles River, which separates Boson from
Cambridge in Massachusetts. Note: This is not on the or
under the bridge, but near by.
This should be a easy find for most. If you feel you need to cross
the road then you probably do, but please take care, it's a busy
road. There are marked crossings close by and would definitely
advise using them.
About the cache site
Longfellow bridge is often referred to as the 'Salt and Pepper'
bridge because of the shape of its central towers. It does appear
to be in a questionable state of repair at the moment and the west
side has been closed to pedestrian traffic since late 2008, with no
sign of any repair work starting. The bridge carries cars, T trains
and pedestrians.
