Can Morton be Stopped? Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Two2teps: I hate to do it, but I have to archive this one after a long run.

The historic marker has been damaged and/or removed and is no longer at the starting coordinates. I have no way of knowing if it'll return and the Google Street View images are just south of legible. Add in that the final stage is now in a very vulnerable location after some recent infrastructure upgrades it's time to send this one to the pearly gates.

Thanks to all who found it and to Lusophile who originally hid it before passing it on to me.

The listed coordinates will take you to a small park named for a former Mayor of Philadelphia and first president of the Fairmount Park Commission. Find some information about him on the marker to help you find the cache.

Get the final North coordinate by adding the difference between the year his park was dedicated and his birth year to the decimal part of the coordinate.

He founded a club, too. For the West coordinate add the number of letters in his name and in the full club name and subtract that total from the decimal part of the coordinate.

The cache is a beach safe which replaces the original small mint tin. When placed it contained a few trade coins. It is not necessary to leave public streets to retrieve it, and please hide it as you find it. Bring your own pen.
