103 years ago today a baby girl was born in Lehi, Arizona, just outside Mesa. Today we attended her birthday party near here. She is Mrs lv2wj's grandmother. Think of all the things she has seen in her lifetime: Two World Wars, the Depression, airplanes, television, computers, men landing on the moon, and so much more!
Here are a few things that happened in 1906:
Feb 17 - Alice Roosevelt, daughter of President Theodore Roosevelt, married in the White House.
Apr 6 - The first animated cartoon copyrighted.
Apr 18 - The great San Francisco earthquake.
May 22 - The Wright Brothers patented the aeroplane.
May 29 - Finland became the first European nation to give women the vote.
Sep 16 - Roald Amundsen located the magnetic north pole.
