Geocache Description:

A great view of the Straits of Juan de Fuca.

The true adventure in geocaching is not the treasures you find along the way, but the amazing places you find and the interesting people you meet. From this particular vantage point, high above the beach, you can see Mount Baker, the San Juan Islands, Vancouver Island, Port Angeles' Ediz Hook, the shipping lanes and downtown Port Angeles, Washington. If you are here at the right time of the year you may spot a large mushroom ring on a nearby lawn.

The paper mill you see to the west, at the beginning of the Ediz Hook is the last of the large mills remaining in the area. It was originally owned by Washington Pulp and Paper, then James Brothers, then Crown Zellerbach, then Diashowa before being taken over by Nippon Paper Company. The mill was originally built in 1920.

You will need to bring a pencil to sign the log. Enjoy the view!
