I: In commemorazione dell’anno 1809 stiamo creando una serie di geocaches. Sono punti geografici interessanti nel Tirolo di lingua tedesca.
ALLGEMEINES:
Diese Caches haben keinerlei politische oder weltanschauliche Ausrichtung und sind nicht dazu gedacht, irgendjemanden zu diskriminieren. Sie zeigen einfach die historisch gewachsenen äußersten Grenzposten unseres Landes und führen in landschaftlich weitgehend unberührte und schöne Gebiete abseits des Massentourismus. Ich habe mir überlegt, auch die Provinz Trient (das ehemalige Welschtirol) mit einzubeziehen, doch wäre die Entfernung für meine owner maintenance ziemlich groß.
Kollege Martin aus Südtirol hat sich dankenswerterweise bereit erklärt, die gelegentliche Cachewartung für den Südpunkt zu übernehmen. Außerdem bisher veröffentlicht (published, pubblicato):

CACHESUCHE TIROL-SÜDPUNKT:
Der Cache liegt, wie schon der Name andeutet, am absolut südlichsten Punkt Tirols (bis auf ein paar Meter, da sich sonst effektiv kein Cache verstecken ließe). Er ist demnach auch aus der Provinz Trient über den Sauchpass zu erreichen. Er ist auch ein Teil des historischen Dürerwegs, der die Überschwemmungsgebiete im Etschtal umgeht. Der Weg ist zu Fuß oder per Rad (MTB) gut zu gehen, nur die letzten Meter sind unwegsames Gelände. Unbedingt gutes Schuhwerk erforderlich! Zu Fuß braucht man für die einfache Strecke ca. eine Stunde.
Man fährt auf der Brennerstaatsstraße bis Salurn, zweigt in den Ort ab und fährt auf der Loretostrasse in Richtung Buchholz, der man bis zu einer Abzweigung (KB, Pirchach) folgt. Auf schmaler Straße weiter bis zu einem kleinen Parkplatz (LP). Stelle hier dein Fahrzeug ab, weiter geht es zu Fuß oder per Rad. Der Weg ist gesäumt von Edelkastanien und bietet wunderschöne Ausblicke. Folge ihm bis zur Abzweigung MB, hier rechts halten. Gehe weiter den stetig ansteigenden Weg bis zum Punkt PT: hier berührt man zum ersten Mal die Grenze zwischen den Provinzen Bozen und Trient, die man aber nicht überquert. Abzweigung scharf nach links oben. Gehe bis zum Punkt QF. Dort noch 83m querfeldein über schwieriges Waldgelände in südlicher Richtung zum Cache. Der effektiv südlichste Punkt Tirols befindet sich ca. 45m weiter in Richtung 140° (Quelle: Südtirol Topo für Garmin, freie Karte).

GENERAL:
These caches are not intended to demonstrate any political or ideological message or to discriminate somebody. They simply show the outmost historical borders of our country and lead you to fairly untouched and scenic areas far away from mass tourism. I was considering including the province of Trento (which was the Italian-speaking part of the historical Tyrol) but this would have been too far in terms of cache maintenance. Also there are no reliable online maps of this province.

STASH HUNT TIROL – SÜDPUNKT (PUNTO SUD):
The cache – as its name indicates - is situated at (only a few meters north of) the southernmost point of Suedtirol (Alto Adige). Of course it can be reached from the province of Trento via passo Sauch as well. It is part of the historical sentiero del Dürer which avoids the flooded Adige valley. The cache location is accessible on foot as well as by mountain bike except for the last few meters which are very rough. You definitely need good shoes for that bit! Walking time is about 1 hour.
Coming from north or south you should drive on the state road as far as Salurn/Salorno, turn off into the village and find yourself via Loreto which leads you in the direction of Buchholz/Pochi. At reference point KB turn right into a minor road (still by car) up to a little parking area. Leave your car there and continue walking or riding a bike through a scenic area with many chestnut trees. Turn right at reference point MB then after some time you arrive for the first time at the border between the provinces of Alto Adige and Trentino (reference point PT). Do not cross the border here but turn sharp left and follow the road up to trailhead QF. From there follow 83m through difficult terrain directly to the cache.
