Geocache Description:

A quick and easy cache 'n' dash (although as at today - 4.8.18) the undergrowth has sprung up a bit so you'll need to scrabble about a bit under some small branches of elder. Near Junction 42 [northbound exit] of the M6. Convenient parking spot nearby at NY 43558 51371. Screw top jar containing a log book and pencil and the usual bits and bobs, AND as at today (4.8.18) - a painted pebble as well. .

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE REPLACE THE CACHE EXACTLY WHERE YOU FIND IT. [See my recent maintenance log].It's been moved a number of times during its life which has made it difficult for cachers to find it and has necessitated maintenance. I had to do some today (4.8.18) - again! I've also upgraded the difficulty and terrain rating as well, but it's at the same co-ordinates as before.

This can be linked to other caches on the footpath along the Petteril River – ‘No bears, only butterflies’ GC19YCP and ‘St Ninian’s Well’ GC1B6G2. Alternatively the nearby parking spot provides a useful, if somewhat noisy, place for a picnic if you’re looking for a break from driving up the Motorway [bridge No.2]. The Council has kindly provided some tables and benches. The cache is on the west side of the river, 200 metres from the footbridge (bridge No.3, beautifully restored after its destruction in the 2005 floods).
