Geocache Description:

Take a minute to look out and enjoy the view.

This is my first cache that I have placed. I grew up here and this is just a nice place to go and take a good look at my old stomping grounds. Bring your camera, if it is a nice clear day, some great pictures can be taken from up here!

Down the hill you will see the farm yards that used to make up the community of Springridge. Springridge was a school district which became the central meeting place for Mennonite immigrants from the Soviet Union who lived in that district as well as Standoff, Fort Macleod, Glenwood and Cowley areas. On July 20, 1928 the group organized under the name of Blumenthaler Mennonite Church. This was later changed to The Springridge Mennonite Church. An old hotel in Fort Macleod was bought for $300.00. During the winter of 1934 it was broken down and the lumber was then hauled to Springridge for the building of a church. The building was completed on the 20th of July.

The church is still in operation with approx. 45 active members. Stop by on sunday morning at 10:30am in the summer for our worship service, or 11:00 in the winter. We welcome any visitors

On the North East corner of the intersection you passed to get here, there was the old Springridge School that was closed in the late 50's. The school was purchased and moved to be converted into a house that still stands today.

Please note: Do not go through the fences onto private property to respect the landowners property.
