Geocache Description:

There are a multitude of great caches along the Animas River. This one is close to one of the oldest historical locations in Durango, Colorado. The cache is a black magnetic key holder.

There are a multitude of great caches along the Animas River. This one is close to one of the oldest historical locations in Durango, Colorado, the Main Street Bridge. There are informational signs nearby with historical facts that detail some of the history of Durango. One of the newest features in this area is the riverwalk trail that was constructed under the bridge in 2005. Ironically, it was flooded just prior to completion in 2005, the river almost reached historic levels - see the informative signs nearby the cache to see pictures of floods and how the railroad bridge was saved.
