Ubby Kirke
Ubby Kirke, (efter Ubby, 1231 Vbby, af mandsnavnet glda. Ubbi og -by), kirke i landsbyen Ubby 10 km SØ for Kalundborg, der trods en hård restaurering 1868-72 står som en sjældent spændende bygning. Kernen, en mægtig romansk kampestenskirke, er fra ca. 1200 ombygget til en kultiveret teglstensbygning med rigt dekoreret (siden fornyet) apsis, toskibet, hvælvet kirkerum og tårn med forhal. Et fund af et middelalderligt gårdkompleks 100 m fra kirken antyder, at den har været gårdkirke. Ombygningen er tilskrevet Esbern Snare.
Ubby Church (after Ubby, 1231 Vbby, the man named glda. Ubbi and city), the church in the village Ubby 10 km SE of Kalundborg, despite a tough restoration 1868-72 stands as a rare exciting building. Heart, a mighty boulders Romanesque church dates from ca. 1200 converted to a cultivated brick building with richly decorated (since renewed) apsis, toskibet, curved kirkerum and tower with delays. A discovery of a medieval courtyard complex 100 meters from the church suggests that it has been the church courtyard. The reconstruction is attributed Esbern Snare.
