This regular-sized puzzle cache is located at the site of a
British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP) airfield that was
active during the Second World War. It is now private property,
and, sadly, there is no signage to mark its historical
significance. You can see from the road a few concrete structures
that date back to when the airfield was home to #31 Elementary
Flying Training School in the early 1940's. There is some excellent
information available
online that describes the BCATP and places the
DeWinton airfield in its historical context.
There are two ways to uncover the final coordinates. The easiest
way is to decrypt the hint on this webpage and follow its guidance.
The riskier way is invest in a trip to the posted coordinates and
break the code onsite. The puzzle is intentionally easy as the main
purpose of the cache is to highlight this location's role in
Canada's wartime history. No matter which way you choose to solve
the puzzle, your task is to decipher the red letters in the strings
below using the sign at the posted coordinates as the key.

You can verify your solution on
Geochecker.com. Be aware that you do
not need to go on private property to reach the final
coordinates. They are accessible on a public road that does not
appear on Google maps.
In keeping with the spirit of the location,
the initial contents of the cache have an airplane and/or military
theme. Please bring appropriate trade goods.
