Geocache Description:

The above co-ordinates are bogus. You should only go there if you prefer to march to the beat of your own drum - the cache (and the band) aren't there.

The foot soldiers of the West are growing weary. The constant vigilence that has lead to some great victories during this campaign for bragging rights, is beginning to take a toll. Concerned for the morale of their troops, the Western Generals have decided to start a marching band. It is hoped that the rousing music will boost the soldiers spirits so that they may NEVER lose an FTF race!

Many great musicians gathered together to jam and decide on the best West battle march. Unfortunately they turned out to have very different opinions, both in music and politics. What followed was a mashed up mix of songs that none listening could decipher.

Through early morning fog I see how could I ever refuse, I feel like I win when I lose the tears and the sweat only mock my desperation twere a beautiful day for a battle don't tell me I can't fight, cause I'll punch out your lights someday I'm going to murder the bugler he's in the army now, a-blowin' reveille baffled, our foes stand by the shore, follow they will not dare.

To discover the locale of the musicians practice session and help (or hinder) their progress you must determine which battle song each of the 8 was attempting to play. Match the song to the great battle or war which inspired its' composition and then find the year during which each conflict began.
Solve the problems below to determine the correct co-ordinates.

S 36° AA.BCD   E 174° EE.FGH

AA = Number of years between the start of the first and last conflict - 877.

B = Number of years between the start of the 2 wars in Asia.

C = Number of decades between the start of the last 2 wars.

D = Sum of the digits in the year of the Scottish battle - 18.

EE = Sum of the years of the conflicts starting with "W" - 5630.

F = Number of years between the first 2 battles / 85.

G = Number of years between the start of the WWs - (ordinal value of the letter "W" + 2)

H = Number of conflicts in the 20th century - number of conflicts pre 20th century.

If you hit the right notes, the cacophony can become cache.
