gFAB 2009 Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

The Cache Hoppers: Time to close this one off. Thanks to everyone who came along and made the event what it was - a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. [:)] There are a few trackables still showing but I think they mainly belong to attendees so please feel free to leave them there for now if you wish. All others of course ought to be logged out and moved on. [:)] See you all at next year's gFAB if not before. Best wishes from The Cache Hoppers and PopUpPirate. [:X]

Geocache Description:

We would love you to come us join us for a weekend of camping and caching at Southam, Warwickshire. We've booked the rally field at Holt Farm, Holt Road, Welsh Road East, Southam, Warks, CV47 1NJ for the weekend of Friday 4th through to Sunday 6th September, with additional nights available either side for those that would like a longer visit. The site is on a quiet family farm situated in beautiful rural Warwickshire. The farm is in the parish of Napton on the Hill, which is well known for the Napton flight of locks on the Oxford Canal, and also for its windmill, and is just ten miles from Leamington Spa and Warwick.

The rally field is immense and we have negotiated a really good nightly rate of £7 per pitch. Please note: there are no electrical hook ups on the rally field, although we are hoping to have one central point where people can recharge batteries and mobile phones. We will start collecting pitch fees from mid-August but will give you details regarding that nearer the time.

Electric hook ups are available on the main site for anyone who wants it, but you will need to pay main site rates (£5 per adult, £2 per child under 16, with electric by card meter) and book directly with the campsite, telephone 01926 812225.

There will be several new caches set for the event, including a circular walk starting and ending on site.

Non-campers will be able to log the event by popping into site on the Saturday morning when we will be releasing details of new caches and swapping geocoins and TB's.

Holt Farm has separate ladies and gents washing facilities with hot showers. We have inspected the facilities and found them to be very pleasant. Coarse fishing is available for all campers. Cycle hire, cream teas and fresh buffalo produce available on site.

Please put this cache page on your watchlist so you can be kept informed of updates.
