On May 17, 2006 LTVA introduced 50 new bears to the South Shore of
Lake Tahoe each weighing between 375 and 400 pounds and standing
six-feet tall. No, it’s not the area’s famous brown bear coming out
of hibernation; it was the Bears By The Lake… A CeleBEARtion!,
South Shore Lake Tahoe’s largest outdoor public art display and
major community fund-raiser. Only a few of these remain at this
location! Inside the building and down the stairs.
On the weekends, the door on the side of the building at the
parking structure may be closed in the afternoon, but there is
another door on the other side of the building. Go inside the
Visitor's Center for a visit. There is lots of local information!
You might also be interested in meeting some of the local
bears.
Just for fun: You should dress for the occasion (proper attire
provided in the cache container) for the full fun effect of this
location and then post your pictures on the cache page for the
visitor's center (and all of us) to enjoy! The staff know about the
cache and are willing to help you get dressed. Hours are 9 - 5
seven days a week. This cache is placed with the approval of the
owners.
Lastly, this is not a TB Hotel, but I would hope there will
always be a few trackables to share.
