Geocache Description:

The idea of using fire lookouts was first introduced by Coert du Bois in 1914.

Years before there was an established lookout, Forest Service fire spotters used this ridge to watch for fires.

The original lookout was built in 1924. In 1935, the Civilian Conservation Corps built the current building. Sometime in the '40's the garage was added.
