COG’s
Xmas in July 2009
July
25th is coming and so is Xmas in July.
KSAcat
invites you to join his family for a picnic at his modest estate on
the beautiful shores of Lake Couchiching.
Date:
Saturday July
25th
Time:
11am until
4pm
Where:
Fawn Bay
Rd
What
to bring:
1.
Lunch,
including beverages, for you and your family (BBQ will be
available).
2.
Chairs
or a blanket to sit on.
3.
Bathing
suit, towel, life jacket if desired.
4.
To
participate in the secret Santa gift exchange each person in your
party should bring a wrapped trading item. Any standard geocaching
trade is acceptable including travel bugs and geocoins. Or take
this opportunity to regift. The gift must be wrapped in Christmas
paper, newspaper, white paper or coloured paper. How they are
wrapped is not important but they must be
wrapped.
5.
Your
WIFI enabled devices if you have any as WIFI will be
available.
Santa
will be joining us at about 1:00pm and you will have an opportunity
to have your picture taken with him as he distributes the gift
exchange presents. One of the presents he will be handing out is a
special edition COG 2009 geocoin. Only 30 of these coins have been
minted and one of you will have an opportunity to receive one as a
gift from Santa.
Depending
on the weather conditions; canoes will be available if you are
interested in seeking the nearby caches on islands or just going
for a paddle. If you wish to go swimming the water is shallow
but the bottom is rocky and requires water shoes to avoid scrapes
and cuts. We may be able to use the boat to do some tubing
and/or skiing if the winds co-operate.
This
is an outdoor event with only modest shelter available, please plan
accordingly.
Watch
for new land-based caches that are being placed by local
geocachers. They will
be published before the big day.
When
logging your Will Attend, please include the number of people in
your party.
Please
note that there will be no admission fee as the event is being held
on private property. We estimate that the cost of hosting this
event will be $3 per adult. There will be a donation jar for those
who wish to help with the costs.
Hopefully
all the ice will be gone by then
