Ciao collega geocacher,

Dopo oltre un mese dalla mia nota, non ho ricevuto alcuna risposta ne' visto alcuna modifica.
Se non lo hai ancora fatto, per favore raccogli ogni eventuale resto del cache al piu' presto possibile. Se hai intenzione di intervenire sul cache, una volta completata l'operazione per favore lasciatemi un messaggio con il numero waypoint GC relativo al cache. Saro' piu' che lieto di verificare nuovamente il cache per verificare la sua conformita' con le linee guida.

Grazie per l'attenzione e per ogni ulteriore informazione ti prego di non esitare a contattarmi o attraverso il message center oppure inserendo un log in questo cache.

Geocache Description:

Costruito a partire dal XVI secolo, venne trasformato e ampliato, per volontà di Cristina di Francia, moglie di Vittorio Amedeo I, da Carlo e Amedeo di Castellamonte, (1620-1660): al gusto francese della madama reale si devono i tetti a falde inclinate.
L'originario carattere di villa fluviale con affaccio sul Po fu in seguito alterato dallo sviluppo del fronte verso la città, con grande cortile d'onore chiuso su tre lati: in particolare furono rimaneggiati nel secolo XIX i due corpi laterali perpendicolari alla facciata, dotata di portico con loggia soprastante e affiancata da due torri quadrilatere.
Decaduta a partire dalla morte di Cristina di Francia, la residenza ebbe successive destinazioni d'uso: scuola di veterinaria nel periodo francese, caserma nel 1824, scuola di applicazione per gli ingegneri dal 1859, infine sede della facoltà di Architettura del Politecnico di Torino.
Le stanze al piano nobile conservano importanti decorazioni seicentesche ad affresco e a stucco dorato o bianco.
Un'area di 27.000 metri quadrati a sinistra del Castello è occupata dall'Orto Botanico; fondato da Vittorio Amedeo II nel 1729, comprende numerose piante rare ed è fornito di ampie serre, un erbario e di una Biblioteca, dove sono conservate preziose tavole botaniche del XVIII secolo.
Attualmente il Castello del Valentino è visitabile solamente il sabato dalle ore 9.30 alle 12.00 solo su prenotazione obbligatoria (gruppi massimo 25 persone) con ingresso gratuito.

Built starting from the 16th century, it was transformed and enlarged, for the willing of Christine of France, Vittorio Amedeo I's wife, by Carlo and Amedeo of Castellamonte, (1620-1660): to the French taste of the royal madam are due the roofs with inclined pitches.
The original character of fluvial villa looking at the river Po was later altered by the development of the front towards the city, with great honour courtyard closed on three sides: in particular, the two side bodies perpendicular to the façade were re-built in the 19th century; the façade is given a portico with an upper lodge and it is sided by two quadrilateral towers.
Castle of the Valentino decayed after the death of Christine of France, the residence had other destinations of use: veterinary school in the French period, barracks in 1824, application school for engineers from 1859, then seat of the Faculty of Architecture of the Polytechnics of Turin.
The rooms in the noble floor keep important 17th century décor in fresco and golden or white stucco.
An area of 27,000 metres square left of the Castle is occupied by the Botanical Gardens; founded by Vittorio Amedeo II in 1729, it comprehends various rare plants and it is provided with vast greenhouses, an herbarium and a Library, in which there are kept precious botanical plates of the 17th century.
Nowadays the Castello del Valentino can be visited only on Saturdays from 9,30 to 12 a.m. with compulsory reservation (maximum group 25 people) with free entrance.
