Geocache Description:

Rip up the hill, grab the cache and admire the view

Belmont Reserve is home to one of wellington's paintball ranges (I am not sure if it's still used though) and also a great walking / mountain biking track. The uphill is hard going but coming down is a real hoot.

The views from the GZ are truly stunning and you can see Titahi bay though to the new wind turbines. So take a camera.

The tracks are off the paintball area so there shouldn't be much danger from stray paintballs. Muggles are few and far between but beware of the odd jogger or mountian biker.

The cache is best accessed from the eastern side, there is no need to clamber through the gorse like I did.

I don't think there are any issues with dogs on the belmont reserve and children are certainly welcome. Wheelchairs might find the steep downhill portions a bit much.

The tracks are all wide and well trimmed and are adorned with markers too.

This is my second cache in this area and the parking should cover both caches. As for the last cache things can get busy up Caribbean Way on sports days so might be best to avoid Saturdays.

Take a water bottle too you might need a drink at the top. Carparking is at 400ft and cache is at 805ft.

Enjoy the Cache.

BTW .. The Belmont was the model down from the Holden Kingswood.
