I've been researching and visiting old, local cemeteries, and this one is the kind of jackpot I'm always hoping for at the end of the road--historic, secluded, down a lonely road, tucked into the woods, and near a scenic view. When I hid the cache, my dad and I spent a lot of time walking around, reading the headstones, and looking at the amazing array of fungi growing in the cemetery. Dad is a local genealogist and was able to tell me about the Mahoney family history, including the Reverend Mahoney who is buried here.
To get here, follow the gravel road back to the second parking lot, and then walk up the path to the north. You can probably make this drive in a car, but use your own judgment and be mindful of the potholes! Bring your own pen!
