I've heard of people who've had these amazing experiences but I
never suspected it would happen to me. You may have heard reports
of people finding notes left by Pacific Northwest Elves, with
information about their homes, their treasures, or just some place
they want you to visit. They are quite common in the Burien area
but are found in many other areas, as well. Imagine my surprise to
find such a note the other day.
I spent many hours translating the note. It told of an area once
protected by the elves. It told of the urban growth that drove them
from the area and of the large buildings and parking lots that
encroach on the area. They pleaded with me to enlist the help of
those who desire to protect our natural areas, to ask them to come
and visit, walk the trails, enjoy the lake, and ensure that the
nearby wetlands are respected. In return, they promised their
blessings. They also offer a safe place for exchanging treasures.
At the bottom of the paper I found a set of numbers; those same
numbers you see on this page.
I set off immediately to visit the area; however, once there, I
was unable to locate the promised treasures. Instead, I found
another set of coordinates. Clearly these elves have a mischievous
nature, but my experiences to date with other elf-protected
geocaches led me to believe that these coordinates would eventually
lead to the treasure. My search continued as I came to two more
such locations until finally I reached the promised treasure.
I encourage all of you to come help the elves. Visit this
location, enjoy its beauty and natural wildlife. Encourage others
to visit and to help ensure it retains its magical beauty. The
elves will reward you.
