Geocache Description:

Cache is placed near to a popular playground that will require a degree of stealth or patience in order to retrieve it. It was possibly a victim of an area clear-up as the area is different to when cache was first placed. Have moved it to a slightly more discreet position away from muggling eyes.

Albert Raymond (Ray) Blank (1887?-1963) was the headmaster of Fendalton School 1922-1949. On his retirement architectural students submitted plans for a gate to be erected in his memory.

Now only a plaque remains at the entrance referring to his work as a pioneer of open-air schools. The open-air movement believed in building classrooms with large folding doors and windows to allow maximum exposure to the sun and fresh air. An experimental classroom was built at Fendalton School in 1924.
