I am near the Calkins Bridge Dam, also know as the Allegan Dam. The dam was built by the city of Allegan and began operaion in 1936. The dam was named for a bridge that was named for Dr. Abram Calkins, a local doctor, who was also a surgeon in the civil war. The dam was purchased by Consumers Energy in 1969 and have operated it since that date. The dam generates 2,500KW of power. As the cache is located at a boat launch, there may be muggles present at any time.
