Under perioden 1753-1822 har kopparmalm brutits vid Mårtanbergs gruvor. Ännu idag finns tre av de gamla gruvhålen kvar mitt ibland de övergivna slaggvarparna. Den djupaste heter Lundins gruva, och är idag vattenfylld. Namnet har ingenting med dagens "Lundin Mining" att göra.
Den mineralintresserade besökaren kan hitta grön malakit, blå azurit, små korn av kopparkis eller små mattgula tärningar av svavelkis i stenhögarna.
Under verksamhetsperioden 1777-1791 och spridda år mellan 1801 och 1823 utvanns 257 ton ren koppar. Från tiden före 1777 finns det inga produktionssiffror, utom för år 1764 då det producerades 880 kg garkoppar. Den sista smältan vid Mårtanbergshyttan ägde rum år ABCD.

Copper ore was mined in Mårtanberg during the period 1753-1822. Three of the old mine pits are still visible today among the abandoned slag heaps. The deepest is called Lundin's Pit and is today filled with water. The name has nothing to do with "Lundin Mining" of today.
The visitor interested in minerals can find green malachite, blue carbonate of copper, grains of yellow copper pyrite and small bits of pale yellow iron pyrite in the piles of stones.
During the period 1777-1791 and scattered years between 1801 and 1823 the mine produced 257 tons of pure copper. The only earlier records are for the year 1764 when the mine produced 1760 lbs of rose copper. The last melting at the Mårtanberg foundry took place in year ABCD.
