CERN,
the European Organization for Nuclear Research, is one of the
world’s largest and most respected centres for scientific research.
Its business is fundamental physics, finding out what the Universe
is made of and how it works. The best part is that you can see the
facilities! CERN’s Visits Service
organises tours of its experimental areas and facilities, which
are free of charge. Minimum opening times are listed below.
Microcosm, CERN's interactive science centre is open
Monday-Saturday 8.30-17
The Globe of Science and Innovation is 27 metres high and 40
metres in diameter, it’s about the size of the dome of Saint
Peter’s in Rome. Monday - Friday 2pm to 5:30pm Saturday - Sunday
10am to 5pm
Tours for individual visitors are organised on Wednesdays
and Saturdays starting at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., subject to
availability. The tours will be conducted either in English or in
French.
