Marion Township was one of the last areas of Henry County to be settled with just 10 voters living here in its inception in 1847. Due to the land being mostly swamp and woods and the absence of roads, the township did not develop much until later when the railroads came through. Wanting to drain the swamp and create roads drove up property taxes, so many non-resident property owners sold their land to the settlers who were here. This in turn kept the population low, but made the farms quite large.
While here, you'll be looking for a small camo'd locking container with some room for trade items.
The "SQ" in the cache name above signifies Spirit Quest, a project by the Northwest Ohio Geocachers to distinguish those caches that are set in cemeteries and memorial gardens. This cache is part of that series created by NWOGEO members to highlight cemeteries or memorial gardens in the area. Please be respectful of the area, and observe their rules and posted hours which are typically sunrise to sunset.
