Traditional cache hidden off of the Del Amigo trail in Las Trampas.
This is the fourth in our "Redheads Give Back" series, in our shamelessly self-promoting effort to add to the local Danville / Alamo caching community. The GeoRedHead (GRH) family started caching in the summer of 2008, and we are hooked. After our first 390-ish finds, it's been a great experience for us, helping us meet people and see places in our own backyard - that we never knew were there.
This cache was hidden on a whim, on a beautiful solo Father's Day hike up in Las Trampas on the Del Amigo trail. Made it up to Virgil Williams, loved the spot, and hid this one another half mile down the trail... The trail is a climb, and at times is just plain steep. Have fun!
The cache itself may be a challenge; while it is physically just a 35mm film cannister, the outer camo should make it blend right in. Additionally, it's under heavy tree cover, and the GPS was bouncing all over the place - 10 samples drew a 40 ft spread of potential locations.
Please replace carefully after signing the log. Not much room for trading, but a signed picture of George Washington for FTF.
