The cache was placed at Van Egmond House with the permission of the family/foundation. It is a camouflage-taped lock-lock container. For more details about the Van Egmond house, please see:

This site is an ideal historical location for a geocache. We've been puzzled that no one had placed a cache here until now.
The Van Egmond House was built by Constant Van Egmond and his wife Ann Johnston. This Georgian manor is one of the oldest houses in Huron County.
The Van Egmond family played a fundamental role in the opening of the Huron Tract, and Colonel Van Egmond was involved with the Rebellion of 1837 in an attempt to bring responsible government to the area. He died untried in the Don Jail, Toronto.
Today, the Van Egmond House is preserved to its original splendour to provide a glimpse of life in the mid-nineteenth century.
Baby Bear and I placed the cache after our band [the Goderich Laketown Band] played a benefit concert on the lawn there.
