This cache is located within the Point Whitehorn Marine Reserve and can be found along a nicely maintained trail that leads to the beach. The cache container is small that holds a log book, a pen, and a few small trade items.
Another cache nearby introduced me to this nice trail system a few weeks ago. While walking to the cache I couldn't help but noticing all of the incredible trees along the trail. I have heard of and seen nursing stumps before but this forest is full of fallen down trees that just wouldn't die, with multiple trees growing from some of them. I'm not exactly a tree hugger type of guy by any means, but I am sure glad that we have so many parks set aside for us to enjoy, and to preserve things as they are. Nearby the listed coordinates is one of these trees. A little North is a large #4 tree, you can't miss it. As you come into the woods from the parking lot, there is another nursing tree on the left of the trail.
The cache container can be obtained from the trail, so no bushwhacking or disturbing the surrounding foliage is required. Before heading off to this cache you might note that animals are not permitted in this park, you may wish to leave dogs at home. I hope you will enjoy this place as much as I do! Give yourself enough time to walk the entire trail down to the beach. There are nice over looks equipped with stone benches. Bring your camera and post a picture of your favorate tree or nature shot. Happy Caching - DaddyA & Jaws07
