Geocache Description:

Thanks to Yorkshire Buttons for their Roadside Challenge series which inspired me to set one of my own. A drive by cache on one of my favourite roads.

The road from Barras in Eastern Cumbria, up to Tan Hill in the Yorkshire Dales and then on along Arkengarthdale towards Reeth, is one of my favourites. At different points along the road, all you can see is moorland ...........no houses, roads, nothing.
You get the feeling that you are alone in a wild & beautiful place. At other points, the road suddenly gives you a great view..... usually when you least expect it.
This is one of those places. On a good day, you can see across the Eden Valley to the Mountains of the Northern Lakes.
Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this lovely area.
There is parking nearby for a couple of cars. Cache is in a small lock and lock box which can take small swaps, small TB’s and Geocoins.
Once you’ve located the cache, keep on up towards Tan Hill & enjoy discovering a hidden part of the Yorkshire Dales.
