Geocache Description:

This cache is located at the posted coordinates. It is fairly
easy to get to, just a metre off the path. and is a small container.

The Great Durham Region Quest was supposed to be a Quest, but after some discussion, with reviewers, my attempt at making a quest, became an exercise of editing.

My quest was originally set to spell "GEOCACHING IN DURHAM" with 18 caches where the first letter of the cache name was to be one of the letters needed. A cache could only be claimed by one cacher therefore two cachers could not claim the same cache. You could also not use the cache before a said date, so any cache a cacher had already done would not be eligible for the Quest. This allowed all players, regardless of the number of caches one had done, to be required to find 18 caches. Oh and all caches had to be within the legal boundaries of the Regional Municipality of Durham.

I was asked to allow any any cache found regardless of date and also to allow multiple claims. I left that the quest was no longer a CHALLENGE but just a futile exercise to prove you have the said caches to spell "GEOCACHING IN DURHAM". For those that had the caches no need to get out from behind the computer, while those that did not would have to go and find them.

QUEST – noun
1. a search or pursuit made in order to find or obtain something: a quest for uranium mines; a quest for knowledge.
2. Medieval Romance. an adventurous expedition undertaken by a knight or knights to secure or achieve something: the quest of the Holy Grail.
3. those engaged in such an expedition.

To me a quest is a challenge set equal for all, to try and achieve a task set before them. A quest at time is doable, yet other time not but may soon be doable again.

My take on this quest at first was fairly easy, go out young cacher and find me 18 caches that spell "GEOCACHING IN DURHAM". As the pool of claimed caches was depleted, the quest becomes harder and harder, until it can no longer be done. That is until a new cache is published. Not only is there a race for the FTF for the new cache, but this new cache could also meet the needs of a Cacher on this Quest.

Ah but the quest was not to be. There is still a cache SO

Go forth young, and not so young cachers and find this new cache.

That is you quest.

CONGRATULATION ck_evac on your second FTF.
