The Hill Traditional Cache
Crescent Trekkers: I am putting this on my list.
I will really HATE to archive this one. There is no way I can make it up the hill. I will need friendly help to check on this one. It's hard for me to picture it gone. But then. . . . Stay tuned.

In early June, the women of Crescent Trekkers, Scrabblers, and Money Hunter went on a cache placement spree. We ended up calling it our "Sweet Sixteen," because we hid 16 different caches.
We saw this hill when viewing the LARGE flag, and thought "Maybe?" but then decided .......no way. We were wearing sandals, we were running out of time, and the "road" was muddy.
Today I went back. I asked permission (again) - and got it (again). Though the "road" was dry, and I *think* I could have driven, I decided to WALK up the hill.
The flag is the largest flying American flag in the world. It is not always flying, but the pole itself is impressive. It extends 25 feet into the ground. It needs to: it must support a flag that weighs almost 200 pounds.

Here is an updated description: (You can refer to my log of 9-13-09). Because of some vandalism down by the bridge, the veterans have placed a gate at the beginning of the road to the bridge. However, I went in person to ask again if we could still have caches there, and the answer was "yes." So, to get to this cache, you will have to park and walk to the bridge and then continue walking UP THE HILL to this cache. Have fun!
