Eräänä yönä kätköilijäparka Mr. G huomasi olevansa eksyksissä
aivan oudossa paikassa.
-"Onneksi hätä ei ole tämän näköinen", ajatteli Mr. G itsekseen
kaivaessaan GPS:n taskustaan.
Mutta jotain kummaa oli vialla tuossa taianomaisessa
härvelissä:
Jostain syystä laite ei laskenut laskuja aivan loppuun asti ja
ilmoitti Mr. G:lle ainoastaan
paikantamiseen parhaiten sopivien satelliittien sijainnit ja G:n
etäisyyden kuhunkin satelliittiin.
Taisipa noissa etäisyysarvioinnissa olla jopa jonkinlainen virhekin
mukana.
Mr. G meinasi jo hätääntyä luullen jäävänsä eksyksiin oudolle
paikalle, mutta onneksi
hän sattui vilkaisemaan ympärilleen ja huomasikin olevansa
oikeastaan aivan tutuilla seuduilla.
Niinpä Mr. G päätti sammuttaa GPS:nsä ja lähteä kotiin
pullakahville.
Ennen poistumistaan hän päätti vielä jättää paikalle kätkön
muistoksi kokemuksestaan.
Löydätkö sinä Mr. G:n piilottaman purkin hänen GPS:nsä kertomien
tietojen perusteella?
Tulokset täytyy lopuksi muuntaa WGS 84
-koordinaattijärjestelmään.
Taulukon koordinaatit on ilmoitettu maahan sidotussa,
maakeskeisessä ECEF-koordinaatistossa.
P.S. En usko että (ainakaan runsas) lumi helpottaa tämänkään kätkön
löytymistä. ;) |

At some night poor cacher Mr. G noticed he was lost in unknown
location.
-"Well, what's to worry about", thought Mr. G as he took his GPSr
out of his pocket.
But something very strange was going on with his GPSr:
For some reason it did not finalize the calculations and told Mr. G
only the coordinates of the satellites needed for the position
calculation. Also it showed the ranges to those satellites, but it
seemed like there was some error included in the range
measurements.
Mr. G almost panicked being lost at his location but good for him,
he looked more carefully his surroundings and recognized the place
after all. So he decided to turn off his GPSr and go home to drink
a cup of tea. Before he left he decided to hide a geocache at the
location to remember his experience.
Can you find the cache Mr. G hid given only the same information
that he saw on his GPSr?
Results has to be converted to the WGS 84 coordinate system in the
end.
The coordinates in the table are in ECEF (Earth-Centered,
Earth-Fixed) coordinate system.
P.S. Snow might make finding more difficult, at least if there's
lot of it.
