The co-ordinates at the top of the page will take you to a nano
hidden on Coanrhennee Road which is an area just outside Conhrenny
Plantation. The nano contains the co-ords for the final cache which
is hidden near an area of the plantation which is currently being
developed as "Trees for Life (Biljyn Bio)" for local school
children.
This initiative is designed to bring young school children in
touch with the importance of trees and their natural environment
through a system of 'hands on’ learning which will involve
the creation of a new broad leaf woodland on Forestry land at
Conrhenny Plantation. This exciting new project will initially
involve 18 classes from 14 of the Island’s Primary Schools.
The schools have received 500 containerised native broad leaf trees
which they will care for until invited to carry out several annual
plantings at Conrhenny Plantation (a 5 hectare site). The Forestry
Division has also produced an activity pack for use by teachers
which will enable the children to learn more about the importance
of trees and how to plant and care for them.
The cache container is a small plastic box with just enough room
for geocoins, small travel bugs and small swops. It originally
contained a log book & pencil, FTF badge for the first to find,
2 geocaching badges and a silver sixpence.
