[LAT] Pagājušā gadsimta sākumā Rīgas pilsētas galvas Armitsteda brālis iegādājās Veckārķu muižu un nolēma uzcelt greznu pili, kur pavadīt vasaras, uzņemt viesus un rīkot lielas svinības. Pils celta no 1911. līdz 1913. gadam, padarot to par jaunāko pili Latvijā. Pie tās būvniecības strādāja visi apkārtnes celtnieki- no Rūjienas līdz Valkai un pat tālāk. Pilī bija simt istabu, taču pēdējā simtā joprojām nebija pabeigta, jo gubernators draudēja ar augstu nodokli. Pils projektēta pēc arhitekta Otto Wildau grandiozā būvprojekta. Grūti pat iedomāties, ka būvdarbus vadīja kalpa dēls Ansis Stupelis, kurš skolā bija mācījies tikai piecus mēnešus.
[ENG] At the beginning of the 20th century, the brother of George Armitstead, the mayor of Riga, purchased Veckārķi Manor and decided to build a luxurious palace where he could spend his summers, host guests, and organize lavish celebrations. The palace was constructed between 1911 and 1913, making it the youngest castle in Latvia. Builders from across the region, from Rūjiena to Valka and even farther, took part in its construction. The palace was designed to contain 100 rooms, although the last floor was never completed, as the governor at the time threatened to impose a heavy tax. The building was constructed according to the grand architectural design of Otto Wildau. It is difficult to believe that the construction work was led by Ansis Stupelis, the son of a servant, who had received only five months of formal schooling.

[LAT] Slēpņa kordinates nav precīzas, tās norāda uz pils pagalmu, slēpnis ir pils telpās, otrajā stāvā, tornim tuvākā loga rāmī.
