Geocache Description:

Nano on easily accessed triangle in Mineola. Be sure to have tweezers and a writing instrument.

This is Lions Park. In 1962 a monument was erected here to international peace & service to humanity. In 1976 a monument built by Nassau County youths was erected in honor of the Bicentennial-the Spirit of '76. In 1989, walks and benches were installed in honor of the bicentennial of George Washington's Oath of Office as First President of the United States. This triangle park is sponsored by the Lion's Club of Nassau County.

The plastic log case opens, but also can be flipped out of cache container so the log can be pushed out opposite end.

*UPDATE* After a note from the FTF (Congrats!) we stopped by the cache today, 6/27/09, and made it a little more secure. Hopefully it will stay put.

*UPDATE 6-29-14* Thanks to all the cachers who let us know about some issues. Replaced the log and the thing the log is in, but not the container itself. Hopefully will stay dry. Tried to get rid of all the bugs as best as we could, but if you have a deathly fear of earwigs, maybe a winter-only cache for you.

UPDATE 4-7-19: Cache had gone missing but it has been found and replaced.
