A circular walk, following the Staffordshire Moorlands Walk, all caches are on or very close to the Moorlands Walk. Actual walking time is around two hours covering a total distance of almost five miles, taking in great views. The suggested parking is at the Brough Park Leisure Centre in Leek where there is plenty of free parking; see the Brough Park cache for a parking waypoint.
Continue on down the track from Lamb’s Corner, into the valley formed by the River Churnet. The river rises in the Roaches and feeds the reservoir before continuing its way towards Leek where it powers the Brindley Water Mill, which is well worth a visit; although it is only open in the summer at weekends. The river is shallow here and the kids and dogs will no doubt enjoy a paddle.
This is a very popular walking route and also a popular area with the local youngsters so please re-hide the cache well.
