Bunjil: Unfortunately there does not seem to be any evidence that indicates that steps have been taken to resolve the issue/s associated with this placement. It would appear the owner of this cache listing is no longer interested in the cache and the cache has been abandoned.

As such the cache is being de-listed (Archived). If there are components or remnants of the cache, please recover them as we don't want to litter our environment with Georubbish.

Geocache Description:

A rather concealed little spot, that could easily be missed when driving along Riversdale Road in the far east of Camberwell. It makes a nice place for a short walk.

I've known about this place for years, though underestimated its beauty until I cycled through this nice strip of urban bush on one of my first geocaching trips. Though it's certainly evident that the Friends of Back Creek have been doing a lot of hard work here to beautify this spot. There is quite a bit of bird life around this area and if you are lucky you may even see or hear a Kookaburra as I did while playing the cache.

This area was once described in a local paper article on local walks as being Sydney like. I don't know about that, though possibly something to do with the steep gully and houses.

The Name

Nobody has put forward any ideas on the name of this cache, so here goes. Molony's Road was the original name for this part of Riversdale Road. The second part, you can possibly still guess (there are multiple reasons).

Getting Here

I recommend that you combine this cache hunt with a walk or bike ride along the creek down to Cornell Street, either before or after you find this cache, to fully appreciate the area. Alternatively you could park at Cornell Street (S37°50.352' E145°05.405') and walk in to find the cache. It's only a 10 minute return walk for most people; maybe less for others – 400m each way. Parking is also available near GZ (please observe any signage) and trams are also available nearby (route 70, stop 54).

The Cache

The cache is a 1.2L Sistema, which contains a few small swaps. You don't need to go far from the path (if at all) though if you do need to leave the path please tread carefully to avoid damaging the vegetation. Please also watch for muggles as they can easily sneak up on you or you may be seen from nearby buildings. They may also see you if they're walking along Riversdale Road. Finally, as usual please replace the cache exactly as found. Hope you enjoy the hunt.
