Geocache Description:

Should be a very easy find near the Mathison Campground.

Due to my advancing age, I (and my doctor) am concerned about the possibility of my experiencing a medical situation while on the road to Maintain one or more of my 120 GC Geocaches and 50 GCA Geocaches.

If you live near this Geocache, or regularly travel near it, you might be interested in Adopting this Geocache (or more of mine). Please let me (WanderingAus) know by Message at
Geocaching Message Center
if you are interested, including the cache code or codes
(e.g GC1V6TR for this cache).

Due to the temporary nature of pens and pencils in my geocaches
BRING YOUR OWN WRITING IMPLEMENT!!!

This cache has been placed to encourage cachers to take a break along the Victoria Highway. I would have give it a better name, but "Driver Reviver" and "SRR" and similar sets were already taken.

I walked out carrying four different containers of different sizes, hoping to find a spot for the largest or at least a good sized "small", but a barbed wire fence around the camp area, and heaps of muggles in most of the area, limited the hiding spots, so a drab camo'd 90 ml screwtop plastic container ended up as the best choice. Initial contents are were Little Miss Daredevil, horse, dinosaur, log book, pencils & sharpener.

Five years after placing it, the cache suffered some "cache creep", but I found it, put it back where it belonged, and put a really descriptive hint, which helped in about 100 subsequent finds, but finally, after a further eight years, it went missing.

I fired up my trusty Magellan Explorist GC, only about 14 years old, and it took me straight to the big rock I recognized from my 2009 and 2014 visits. There was a double tree which acted as a good pointer previously, but it was now missing, the cleared area having been expanded to much closer to the barbed wire fence. I found a piece of man-made material close by which now forms part of a very good hint.

The cache is now a drab camo'd 500 ml round screw-top container, with a logbook, finders cards, pen, two pencils, a pencil sharpener and a small quantity of swaps. It is hidden under a largish rock (maybe 450mm high and round) with two smaller rocks covering the entrance to a gap underneath on the left side of the largish rock.
