This cache is for Heather and her favourite book 'We're going on a bear hunt'.
We're going on a bear hunt.
We're going to cache a big one.
What a beautiful day,
We're not scared......
A nice shortish walk for a summer evening of about 1/2 mile there and the same back. Located on a public bridlepath marked to 'Cotehill' off the back road to Wetheral Shield and the Animal Refuge. You can do the cache from either end of the path but the Wetheral road is quieter and parking is easy. The cache is a 0.33ltr lock and lock with room for a log and a few swaps.
The walk takes you down past an old abandoned milking shed, through a field of long wavy grass, that you cant go under, you cant go over, so you have to go through it. Swishy Swashy, Swishy Swashy. Next across the train line, which you cant go under, you cant go through it, so you have to go over it. Choo, Choo.
Be aware the trains, although infrequent, do fly past and you need to make sure you close the gates at each side of the track and follow the guidance by stop, looking and listening. That said its still quite safe if you follow the precautions we took mini cachers 2 & 4 down the track, and it was a good
safety lesson.
Next down the track uh-oh mud! thick oozy mud, you cant go over it, you cant go over it, oh no, you have to go through it. Squelch, Squerch, Squelch, Sqeuerch. Track isnt muddy now but i imagine it has potential in the winter months.
Uh-uh, a forest, you cant go over it, you cant go under it, you have to go in it to find the cache! Stumble, trip, stumble, trip! Oh no some rocks, you cant go over them, you cant go through them, you will have to go under them!
Find the cache and run home as fast as you can , open the doors, up the stairs, into the bedroom and under the covers, no bears in here!
Enjoy Heathers Bear Hunt and the cache.
