"Whale Rock," is a big curved rock with a natural crack that looks like a mouth. It has an eye painted on it and small white rocks meticulously placed in the crack to form teeth. The locals say it has been there at least 40 years. Whale Rock made its biggest splash appearing on the pages of outdoor clothing company Patagonia's catalog. To this day no one knows who maintains the rock, giving it a fresh coat of paint and new teeth after a hard winter.
