Geocache Description:

Thanks to the recent activities of the "Hermanos de Huevos Grandes", this cache has been proven accessible during whatever wet weather you can pile upon it.

So I just traded my touring kayak on Craigslist to a guy in Santa Cruz for a tandem sit-on-top Ocean Kayak "Cabo" so the lovely WebMistress can go kayaking with me, either in the Cabo, or with my other Ocean Kayak, the Scrambler XT. Awesome boats, both of them. We took a run up the Russian River after putting in down by Jenner and did an easy paddle to get things progressing at a comfortable pace (WebMistress hasn't kayaked before). We got a ways upstream on a beautiful day and went ashore for a little break and to act like teenagers and found [fanfare........] a perfect place for a cache! I was going to do one that could only be reached by kayak or canoe but decided against it. This can also be reached by land, though I'm not sure where you can park as we didn't leave that way when we drove back. I think you might be able to stop for a short time by the entrance to David ranch on 116, I believe it's right above GZ. But rest assured, it will be an easy walk down to the ravine once you park and locate the area where the concrete culvert crosses under the road and heads runoff from the area into the river.
Once found, you'll want to step from the channel over the big log that, upon placement, was lying in the channel, and seek out a black micro hanging very close to a tree trunk on one of the trees branches on the southern side of the channel. Easy peasy! Enjoy. Funny aside: as we left the beach, we suddenly found ourselves upside down and in the water. Coolers, dry bag with wallets and phones and everything else we didn't want wet, all in the water (though secured to the boat) as well as my Oregon! Totally under water for a good twenty seconds (it was not in the dry bag: it got submerged!). No problem whatsoever with any of our items from the little dunking! Great unit, that Oregon. And now it does waypoint averaging too! Let me know how the coords are because they were averaged under fairly dense tree cover.
