Kendal is an attractive small market town and the administrative
centre for South
Lakeland - created from parts of Westmorland, Cumberland and
Lancashire. For more information see Kendal Town Council's
site and for lots of historical details see Kendal.
A fine selection of caches await you both in and around the town
- it's a great place for a geocaching holiday. This one is a
sneaky beastie, well camouflaged - please try and return it to the
same spot so the clue makes sense. There is no need to
trample the flower bed in your searching! An old boundary
stone sits nearby at the entrance to Helsington Laithes with a
K(endal) and H(elsington). Parking can be found 50m NE at the
end of Scroggs Lane, just before Hadwins car sales. Good
cache at the east end of the lane and a nice walk down through the
wood, or you could drive and park by the river: GCX78J.
