I was headed with a few cache containers to what used to be a
favorite snowmobile trail for a walk. Found it to be an adventure
course with numerous blowdowns, debris, and huge mud puddles.
Decided there would be no caches there just yet. Passed this
enticing boat launch on the way back. It also counts towards the
Tour of NH's Big Lakes (GC1GCCJ).
No need to go past the Private Beach sign. The cache is a
standard film canister. BYOP.
You may access both the Elephant Rock and Spoonwood caches from
here as well as from the suggested parking. If you follow the west
shore of the lake into a small cove, you will find a short portage
over to Spoonwood Pond. This will enable you to paddle a loop of
about six miles.
