P & G along County Road 22 on Panther Mtn near Summersville
This should be an easy park and grab. We don't usually go for the p&g but we were driving along County Road 22 recently and came upon an absolutely gorgeous view of the Gauley River and decided to share it with other cachers by placing a cache nearby. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
This is a dirt road with couple of places that might not suit a car with low clearance if you drive all the way through, which we recommend since there are a couple of other caches along this road. But any car or truck with decent ground clearance should have no problems in good weather.
If you enter the road from Rt 129 take Panther Mtn Rd, if you enter from Rt 39 take Peter's Creek Rd. Both these are County Road 22. The entrance from Rt 39 is the entrance closer to this cache. There is room to pull off at the cache site. You do not need to go over the hill to retrieve the cache.
The cache is a decon container and will hold small trade items only. PLEASE replace the contents carefully so that the lid will snap securely into place.
Original contents are a few foreign coins and pirate doubloons along with a couple of other small trade items and $5 prize for the FTF.
